Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her stage title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The label released her first EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox released her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound along with the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on 21st July. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to collaborate together with Rihanna. She was officially signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and was an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared in two of her songs with labelmates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. and Bas in Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. On the 9th of November the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On the 13th of November two singles, titled No One and Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16and later she released the song in a solo version on her debut album. A music video debuted on 20 February 2019 to go along with the track. Within one period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. In December 2018 she was an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
