Selena
She was an artist, creator, and performer who broke boundaries in the music world. She was Mexican-American, but still traditional. She introduced Tejano into mainstream music. Like many times with a bright and genial star passes away way too soon and unexpectedly, it caused her to lose the popularity she had been gaining. Many mourned all of the potential that was not fully realized. To prevent her achievements from becoming forgotten many of her fans in the past years have been motivated to do even more. Selena was the Tejano singer who tragically shot to death during a shooting incident, caused an Latino response that could be compared with the response to John Lennon's death. Selena's music, a singer who was hugely success across Latino communities throughout North America touched people young as well as old. Selena has been called by certain people as the Latina Madonna, but she's still an excellent role model. Selena's values of family life offstage as well as her involvement with AIDS awareness programs are exemplary.
